What's the secret?
It’s 2018 and the body revolution is well and truly underway. But Victoria’s Secret haven’t got the memo.
Year after year, they send a lineup of women with an identical body type down the runway at their annual show, and this year’s was no different.
And it’s not by accident: the company’s chief marketing officer Ed Razek said
"We attempted to do a television special for plus-sizes [in 2000]. No one had any interest in it, still don’t."
Victoria’s Secret thinks no one has any interest in plus size women.
But we do.
So we worked with a few of our favourite models to shoot our own ‘show’, making fun of Victoria’s Secret’s outdated attitude. It’s fun, but with a serious message: Inclusivity is important. It’s 2018, not 1998. No more excuses.
We think any of these ‘angels’ would help Victoria’s Secret turn around their slowing fortunes, and - for the record - we think fashion should be inclusive for all women. Whether you’re 6’1 or 4’1, size 8 or size 18, size 2 or size 32, size 6 or size 26. Spread the message if you’re with us.
